I don't know what it is, but whenever I give a user an adoptable, the adopts page stops working and keeps giving the error "The ID specified does not match any adoptable in our system. Sorry. If you wish, you can adopt a pet.". Any ideas as to why (well, I have some good ones...) and how to fix it?

I'm thinking that it does that because when I give a user an adoptable, it just brings it out of the blue, using up one of the IDs, but because I didn't get it from the adopt page, it thinks that the ID given to the adoptable I made is still in need of use but it can't use it because it's already being used. If that makes any sense...

In your MYSQL under $prefix_owned_adoptables does the aid match up with what you gave them?

Ive never used the admin CP because it never inserts my adopts into the DB I have to do everything via the mysql, so I am wondering if your admin CP forgot to insert the id into the DB.

It keeps trying to give out the creature with the ID 4, but I've already given out 20 creatures...

The aid table shows 20 creatures/codes...

Did you change something to the column 'aid' in table prefix_owned_adoptables? That column initially has auto-increment property enabled, the way your site is malfunctioning seems that the auto-increment feature aint working. What did you do to that table before? Did you try Silverdragontear's code on letter-based adoptables ID? If so, you have to change many things.

I did and, I probably did it wrong, it killed my site so I restarted from scratch again. Since then I haven't touched it at all... :(

Holy shit, I can't believe how simple it was! Just needed to change permissions for cgi-bin and tmp folders to 755 and changed the path to session.save_path = /home/users/web/b793/ipg.gardencreaturesnet/cgi-bin/tmp

And I was about to ask for my money back... *feels like such a brat now* :(

I doubt she's using my code as I didn't give it to her and our code is severely complex. Plus I don't even know how changing the folders to 755 would help an id issue.

Yeah, it seems weird to me how she fixed her problem by changing the cmd. Usually 644 is good enough, I've met a user who had folder CMD as 604 and it turned out to be a problem.

I'm not really sure how she did it... I just started chatting with support, asked for my money back because I've been having a heck a lot of problems with their host, and most of it isn't user-made problems, and she asked to help me and I gave her the login and stuff then responded that she had adopted the creature. I asked her how and that's what she told me... I still want my money back though. <_<

If she had your log in info.. she probably just gave it to herself so you would think it was fixed. >.>

Well if she did, then somehow that fixed it because then I went and tried it myself and it worked. I'm really unsure how she did it, but that's what she told me.
