Writing, designing websites, technology, rats
So I thought I would post a little spoiler for my next project...
I've always been rather dissatisfied with the amount of information related to adoptable sites. They are a lot of fun, a nice waste of time you could say. xD But when I decided I wanted to make one, it took me ages to find enough resources to pull it together. Learning how to make the layouts for it were hard. I didn't know that much about how to use graphics to my advantage. Most of my ideas were based off what I saw on other people's sites because I wasn't sure how to make up my own. I made a buttload of mistakes.
Over time, I learned, mostly by accident. But I think adoptable sites are a great way for people to start learning coding while having a ton of fun, and being creative, so I've decided to try and make it a bit easier for people to make adoptable sites.
World of Adopts is a blog (will be launched in the next few months) containing links, articles, resources and tutorials devoted to creating adoptable sites. I will do guides for everything from Mysidia to MyAdopts to Kitto to others I've found. I will have guest authors do articles involving their own experiences and will devote a lot of time to crawling through all my links and collecting the sites that have helped me over time.
I will build in a directory and clickery, as well as link to others.
I thought I would give everyone a chance to say what they thought about the idea, perhaps offer some suggestions and whatnot. I do welcome any resources you've discovered over the years, or if you are willing to take some time to write an article, guide or tutorial that would be awesome~
I will release the link in a bit for beta viewing, but at the moment it's rather... bare. xD
