First off, I'm a total noob with this kind of stuff, so I need simple, step-by-step help.

Oh, edit. Adding extra currencies? Any help there?

yeah i was having problems with themes too, and being back in school doesn't help, except maybe my web programing class will be of use.

I would check the table prefix_settings and see if the theme is set to simple, also check that it is all lowercase and that the folder is lowercase as well.

Then check prefix_users and see what your theme is set at. The users setting for the theme will override the sites settings. So if the theme is working when you are logged in then you should see a difference in those two tables.

Well usually you are not supposed to have that public_html part in adoptable link. Chances are you entered the field 'script path' field with public_html, check your config.php to see if this is true.

You can fix the siggy part by opening up myadopts.php and FIND (cntrl F) public_html. Then when you get to the correct bbcode snippet just delete the public_html and save =)

I'm afraid I'm not sure what you mean by prefix_settings and prefix_users. Elaborate?

Edit this?

Hang on....

Config file said:
$scriptpath = '/public_html';

Is that not meant to be there?

As mentioned before, I'm a total noob to this kind of coding and I only managed to add a new link to the sidebar with great difficulty. Even though it seemed like a good idea at the time (Myadopts doesn't really give me the flexability I wanted) I'm starting to regret that decision. Oh well, the early days generally are rocky, I suppose.

no it's not
remove the public_html from the script path of your config file. leave it blank and save it.

she means in your db (phpadmin) check the tables settings and the table users

And don't regret it... it's a wonderful script and once you get use to it and maybe learn a bit more about coding it's very rewarding =) Just take a look at my site!!

Open inc/config.php
Find line 9 ($scriptpath = ''; //The folder you installed this script in)

Make sure it looks like that, and not public_html between the ' and '

But if you happen to break the script after uploading this, then you need to remove files from this extra public_html folder, there is only one REAL one with meaning on any server, you're using a secondary one, so it seems.
I'd recommend, if you have no members just reinstall the script and when it asks for the script path in the install, leave it blank (if the script is in the MAIN one)

See this: http://gyazo.com/2b75e9a6d126c4d175ce8182a0941d23

For an example of where the MAIN one is located when you log into your FTP server

Also for the theme issue, you are not setting your theme, to set YOUR theme you need to use the Change theme link on the side menu, I do believe the admin cp method is MEANT to set the default theme for website, but like a few other areas of the script, it does not work as it should.

Method I use for changing the default theme, is directly in phpmyadmin
Open the table called adopts_settings
First listing of the bunch should be theme, click edit on that one and change it from elements to simple (make sure its all lowercase or it will not work)

Thanks Ipengu, that seemed to have worked for both my problems. Thanks a lot :D

I still need help with installing a second (And third, and forth!) currency to my site, can anyone give me a hand?

There are four currencies I need - Calinmu (Used all over), and then three others (Lin, Mu, and Cal) which would be used on the other areas of the world.

I'd like players to earn a little of all four currencies when levelling up pets.

Some pets should only be bought with one type of currency.

I've looked all over for a script like this, but so far I've had no luck. Can anyone help?

No problem, as for currency thing, can't be much help there as I have no need for more than one currency so I'd have no idea on where to start, especially with all your asking in relation to the 4 currencies, sounds like a decently sized amount of coding work.

Ah, I'd guessed as much, but I have no idea where to start so I will need someone else to give me a hand with it. :littlecfrown:

I might as well just post on here again xDD

How precisely do I use the image map codes?

EDIT; Never mind, I figured it out :3

image map is pretty much similar to what you'd normally see inserting a picture, the difference is that image map acts like a map. You can integrate image map with map locations to set up an exploration page.

I know, I figured it out :3

I had a question, but I can't remember what it was.....

Oh, yes I can!

How do I edit the message page? It says BBC is blocked, but me and my friends have been formatting/adding images just fine.

:colonu: I feel so silly not knowing this stuff.
