So I followed the installation step-by-step (I have mysidiahost, not x10 or anything else) and when I try to install the script I get this message:

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator at webmaster@adopttest.mysidiahost.com to inform them of the time this error occurred, and the actions you performed just before this error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

I could reach the install screen before, but I had the files arranged incorrectly then so I had to start over to put everything in the right place. Now I just get the above message. My website is adopttest.mysidiahost.com

I see, that's kinda strange. I will take a look at it later tonight myself as its hosted on mysidia.

Edit: I removed your files and reuploaded them, it seems all okay now. It appears that you were using sftp to access the server and upload files, and it didnt work well. No idea why this happened, but I'd like to know why you used sftp in the first place since not many users know about this.

For some reason, I couldn't get filezilla to connect to the server with ftp so I switched to sftp and it worked just fine. Thanks to taking the time to fix it! But now I get:

Warning: require(../inc/config.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/adopttes/public_html/classes/class_initializer.php on line 97

Warning: require(../inc/config.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/adopttes/public_html/classes/class_initializer.php on line 97

Fatal error: require(): Failed opening required '../inc/config.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/adopttes/public_html/classes/class_initializer.php on line 97

umm in this case I need to edit that tutorial to correct the mistake, if its made for Mys v1.3.x. Can you show me a link to the tutorial?

Actually the installation guide didn't make any mistakes. You can enter yoursite.com/install or yoursite.com/install/index.php. But you entered yoursite.com/install/index, see the difference? Anyway I removed index.php from the tutorial so it clears up some confusion.
