User Profile Buttons NOT working.

Hi. I'm having some trouble with the user profiles buttons not working.

The "About Me" button is on by default.
The link is: /profile/view/Andromeda
but clicking a button only adds a #buttonname after my username as you can see in my video.

I had the same problem when I tried to edit the tabs... for me, one of the tab got caught in a foreach loop, but I don't think that' your case right? Is the tab code in the correct place?

I have no idea. As far as I know, I've never touched the tabs code. Anything altered in the template.tpl wasn't to do with the user profiles.

The tabs have always been a problem for me as soon as the site was installed.
 
Did this happen after you installed one the Item Shop Mod that I made? If you managed to? If so, read carefully and make sure that you read and did ALL of things, or else you'd have this problem. Be sure to add the lines to your theme's header.tpl, and then, as instructed just two paragraphs down from that, open up inc/tabs.php and delete the contents of the file (but not the file itself). Missing any of that would definitely cause this problem.

Yeah I made sure I did those parts.

To be honest, I've never seen them working on my site.

They definitely didn't work BEFORE installing ANY of your mods Kyttias.
When I mod something, I check a certain set of pages in case they break, one of them being user profiles even if the mod doesn't appear to have anything to do with that particular page.

My tabs.php is saved blank.

Hmm... what theme are you using? Near the bottom of your template.tpl, is there another link to jQuery? You only need it once in your site, but it must before any other scripts you use. Because we're calling it the header.tpl, we can safely remove it from the end of template.tpl.

And while this shouldn't be relevant, in the header.tpl, that last script tag? Could you add type="text/javascript" to it? Not having it there is HTML5 acceptable, but your page is using a very strict (and very outdated) XHTML as a guideline instead (judging by the top two lines), so it may break it.

So um, those last four lines, try replacing them with this:

(I'd also like you to get your pages HTML5 ready, so, I'd recommend you change the first two lines to simply:)

Err, you can read more about doctype stuff here. It may not actually be the issue, but it helps me rule stuff out.

AWESOME! I did all that.
There was an identicle jQuery in the template.tpl just above the konami code scripts.
Removed that, fixed the header.tpl and ta dah!

All working there like it should from the beginning. Thank you Kyttias!
 
Yay! I'm glad that got figured out. It's always so confusing when the profile tabs break. They break for soooo many different reasons, it seems. :angrybracket:
 
Well the broken tabs has been a problem from pretty much day 1 of both versions of my site.
I joined that codeacademy but obviously it'll be a while before I learn enough to fix things myself.
Just one more step towards allowing a few limited registries for a sort of beta test.
