Mysidia Adoptables v1.4.0 Update

It's been a while I have been active on this forum and working on the next version of Mysidia Adoptables. Life has been busy, I have a family and got a new job since about 3 years ago. There have been questions regarding the future of Mysidia Adoptables script during my hiatus, and thankfully I will finally have some free time starting near the end of this month. The development of Mys v1.4.0 will resume, though considering it is a major rewrite, the expected release date will be around the 3rd or 4th quarter of 2026. The new version will require PHP 7.4 or later, though I recommend using PHP 8.1+.

The list of features will be compiled in a mega-thread for Mys v1.4.0 that I will post early 2026, once I complete the initial framework code needed for Mysidia Adoptables. The adoptables stats, clan groups, ACP redesign, new default Bootstrap theme, and new addon/plugin systemare most likely going to be included as new features for the next release, but it is still subject to change. You may also check out this thread for previous conversations regarding features for Mys v1.4.0, and I will still consider suggestions until feature freeze by March/April 2026.

MysidiaHost shutdown

On the other hand, the free hosting service MysidiaHost will come to an end by the beginning of February 5, 2026. Thanks to CPanel's greediness, the cost of Mysidia's dedicated server increases every year. To make matters worse, CentOS 7 is no longer actively supported for the latest version of WHM/CPanel. Upgrading operating system to Alma Linux will bump up the price from $300/month right now to $500/month, a cost proved to be unsustainable for my budget. I also cannot promise to be responsive when users encounter server error, and this has led to frustrations in the past which I feel deeply sorry about.

By mid December I will send out notification emails to everyone currently using MysidiaHost. Each client will have around 2 months to backup the sites/files and transfer to a different webhost, before all accounts will be terminated by Feb 5, 2026. I will also keep the backups for users who have maintained active Mysidia Adoptables sites for the last 3 years myself, until they will all be deleted by May 2026.

Following the shutdown of MysidiaHost, Mysidia Adoptables will move to a VPS server provider, with around 24-48 hrs of expected downtime during this transfer process. By the time Mys v1.4.0 comes out, I will also consider a different hosting solution similar to MyAdopts.com(for those who still remember what it is) if possible.
